Censorship and Music Therapy Self Study CMTE (4)
How do we decide when to censor in music therapy sessions? How do we minimize harm and increase safety? How do oppressive systems and countertransference impact these decisions? How do we advocate for change around censorship where we work? This 4 credit, self-study CMTE explores these questions and offers frameworks to support decision making and change. Participants will receive a video, PowerPoint, and self study worksheets. The course is open to creative arts therapists and students. (This course is similar to “Exploring Censorship and Music Therapy” and is not recommended for those who have taken that course) This course has 3 ethics credits.
This course is facilitated by Audrey Hausig, MMT, MT-BC, who has extensive experience as a music therapist and as a clinical supervisor in mental health settings. Audrey’s practice around censorship is continually evolving.
